How is it already the first Saturday of the MONTH?
For us this means that our monthly market day is here. Yesterday we stocked the freezers in the market with our USDA Black Angus beef; it now awaits our customers!
Y’all frequently come in to purchase beef and ask me for recipes. I just laugh because a good recipe is not my specialty. But what I am great at is gathering experts.
The Hill family comes in to purchase meat and by the time they leave I’m always wanting to come sit at their table. While they choose their cuts of meat they start talking about the recipes they will be crafting up and it is way fancier than my method of just throwing them on the grill. Elizabeth has happily agreed to share her recipes with us! I’m so excited.
So for the first installment I bring you Elizabeth’s 1 HOUR CHEATER MARINADE using our New York Strips. She mentions that this would be great for any cut of meat. Here you go!
1 Hour CHEATER Marinade
(for two steaks)
~ 1 Tb. minced garlic
~ 1 Tb. minced Onion
~ 1 tsp. dried rosemary
~ 1 tsp. salt
~ 1/2 cup Dale’s
Mix in a gallon size Ziplock bag. Place the meat in with it, making sure that the meat gets coated on every side. Stick it in the fridge for an hour.
Take the steaks out and set them on the counter for about 10 minutes to get them to room temperature. Then, grill ‘em!
It’s simple, quick, and full of flavor!
I love that Elizabeth says this picture is of local, farm fresh foods. The veggies are from the local Mennonite market, the beef is from our farm, and she grew the sprig of mint featured in her glass.
If you are local come on out to the market. We specialize in USDA Black Angus Beef. You can find out more about our pricing and directions here. We are always open the FIRST SATURDAY of the MONTH from 9am to 2pm.
